Traditional Mask Workshop in Mamoiada
How a Mamuthone mask is made: the craft of wood carving explained by those who do it, with anecdotes and explanations. Monday to Friday, by reservation.
Mamuthones masks are hand-carved from wood, one by one. With Handcrafted Production of the Traditional Masks of Mamoiada, the Museum of Mediterranean Masks shows how they come to life: the wood, the tools, each stage of the work, with anecdotes and explanations from people who know the craft.
