Fishing tourism trip to Asinara from Stintino with lunch on board

Pescaturismo, or fishing tourism, is the most authentic way to experience the sea around Stintino. Instead of a tourist boat, you board the working boat of a local fishing family. With Davide and Silvia, aboard the fishing boat Alex, you spend a whole day between Stintino harbour and Asinara National Park, in a group of no more than 12.

How the day goes

You leave Porto Mannu in the morning and head into the Gulf of Asinara. Along the way you watch a real fishing demonstration: how the nets are set and hauled, and which species live in these protected waters. There are swimming stops in the coves and a short stop on Asinara itself.

Around midday the crew cooks the day’s catch for lunch on board. If you are coeliac or have food intolerances, just say so when you book. You are back in Stintino in the late afternoon.

What’s included

• A day at sea with the fishermen, including the fishing demonstration.
• Lunch on board and drinking water throughout.
• Life jackets for less confident swimmers and a toilet on board.

What to bring

Sun cream, swimsuit and towel, mask and fins if you have them, a sweatshirt for the trip back and flip-flops. Bring any medication you may need.

Good to know

Meet at Porto Mannu, Stintino, on the Coast Guard square, at least 20 minutes before departure. The trip runs every day, Monday to Sunday, and booking is required. Prices change with the season, so ask Davide and Silvia directly.
