Mal di Ventre Sailing Trip from Oristano

The Mal di Ventre sailing trip is Sinis Yachting’s most complete day out. The island, off the Sinis coast, is part of the Sinis Peninsula – Mal di Ventre Island Marine Protected Area: crystal-clear water, granite and not a single building. You depart from the port of Torre Grande in Oristano, in a group of maximum 9 people.

The route

The sail begins off Tharros, which the skipper tells you about from the sea, and continues around Capo San Marco. When the sea is calm, you stop over the Seu wreck, to see it from the boat or with a mask, and then reach Mal di Ventre for a swim and lunch. If conditions don’t allow the crossing, the day is spent along the Sinis coast, in coves sheltered from the mistral.

Two options

• Full day: departing at 9:00 and returning around 17:00, with lunch.
• Afternoon and sunset dinner: departing at 14:00 and returning around 21:00.

Meeting point and what to bring

Trips depart from the Torre Grande marina in Oristano, at Sa Mardini, a few minutes from Cabras and the Sinis Peninsula. A Sinis Yachting skipper is always on board. Bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, a sweatshirt or windbreaker for the trip back, and light-soled shoes that won’t mark the deck.

The program depends on the sea: when the mistral blows, the skipper picks the most sheltered coves on the Sinis coast.
