Dolphin Watching in the Gulf of Olbia by RIB

Four hours in the Gulf of Olbia looking for bottlenose dolphins, with swim stops in the coves and an aperitif on board. In a small group or with the boat all to yourselves.

Dolphin Watching in the Gulf of Olbia by RIB

The Gulf of Olbia is home to pods of bottlenose dolphins, the most common dolphins in the Mediterranean. With Controvento Charter you head out on a maxi RIB from the Marina di Olbia for a trip of about four hours devoted to dolphin watching and to discovering the gulf’s coves and beaches, with swim stops.

How the dolphins are observed

Captain Marco Covre knows the areas where dolphins show up most often. When you meet them, the boat slows down and you watch them calmly, keeping your distance and without chasing them: they are wild animals, and respect comes before the photo. Sightings can’t be guaranteed, but the day is worth it anyway, with clear water and swim stops along the coast.

Shared or exclusive

You can join the shared trip, maximum 12 people, or book the exclusive version, with the boat reserved for up to 12 people. Departures at 9:30 or 14:30.

What’s included

  • Skipper, fuel and insurance.
  • Aperitif with snacks, prosecco and water.
  • Mask and snorkel and safety equipment.

Meeting point and what to bring

The meeting point is MOYS – Marina di Olbia, Via Piovene 12, pier A: look for the Controvento flag. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before departure for check-in and the safety briefing. Free parking is a short walk from the boat; in high season it’s best to arrive by 9.

Bring a swimsuit, towel, sunglasses, water and sunscreen (best to avoid SPF 50+, which stains the cushions). In May, June and October a windbreaker is handy for the trip back. Avoid bulky bags and fragile items.
